FAQs
-
What's a therapy session like? You can imagine it as a highly confidential chat with a friend. While the counselor/client relationship is different than friendship in many ways, because of my relational style, people often say it feels like talking to a friend. The first session is an intake where I find out more about what's bothering you, and we set some goals. Then sessions after that are a chance for us to get to work on achieving those goals!
-
How long are sessions?Sessions are 50 minutes each. I typically meet with clients weekly in the beginning, but frequency can be tailored to your specific situation.
-
What age group do you serve?I work with clients ages 12 and up!
-
Do you offer telehealth?Yes! If you choose to meet virtually, I'll send you a HIPAA compliant video conferencing link to join.
-
I'm interested, what are the next steps?Use any button on my website (or email me at megan@megancannoncounseling.com) to set up a free 15-minute consultation call. Based on our call, if we both feel that it's a good fit, I'll send you all of my intake paperwork and get you scheduled for your first session!
-
What is your rate?Sessions are $130 and I accept all major debit and credit cards, including HSA and FSA. Payment is due at the time of service.
-
Do you take insurance? While we do not directly accept insurance, we understand the importance of financial accessibility to therapy services. As such, we provide you with the necessary documentation to seek possible reimbursement.
-
What is your cancellation policy? If you cancel more than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment, there's no fee. If you cancel within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment time, you'll be charged the full session fee.
