About Megan
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and work with teens and adults who find themselves quite simply, stuck. What I love most is supporting people as they untangle the unhealthy thought patterns that are stopping them from living the life they are called to. While I specialize in working with athletes, I truly just have a heart for people and creating a space for them to heal. My interests span greater than sports performance, as my own life has served as my greater teacher. I am a former DI college soccer player who knows the intensity of performing at an elite level. I spent 12 years as a school counselor, proudly serving teens and their families with their educational, social and emotional needs. To this day, I am an educator at heart and love to share about mental health to my community. I am a daughter, twin and sister, wife, boy mom and strive for health within myself and my family. On any given day, you might find me learning more about brain or hormone health, parenting, ADHD, clinical modalities, youth sports, entrepreneurship, nutrition and fitness or education. There are so many parts of me that I choose to celebrate. My life experiences (and genetic makeup) have shaped me into a therapist who cares about people. The good, bad and ugly.

What does it feel like to work with me?
Simply put, it feels like chatting with a friend, but
a friend who is trained in knowing how to support you.
My style is highly relational and I truly want to learn all about you. My goal in therapy is for you to feel safe and secure, working hard to earn your trust. Part of how I do that is recalling small details that you may have shared or by validating an emotion that feels hard (all emotions are accepted). The 50 minutes we share together is all about you. That might feel strange at first, but my clients always end up appreciating the dedicated time to focus on themselves. Take the leap of making YOU a priority for once. It's always worth it.
My Therapy Approach
My approach to therapy is one that is tailored to your needs, utilizing evidence-based interventions and strategies that align with each individual person. Think cognitive behavioral therapy, with a dose of brain health teaching, sprinkled in with solution- focused or mindfulness practices. A mixed bag of tricks if you will. I am a lifelong learner and keep in the know of the latest research, theories, and practices in mental health. It's important to me that my clients are getting the best care I have to offer.
As a therapist, I approach my work with realness, directness, and collaboration. I love being on your team! I appreciate the diverse backgrounds and identities of my clients, celebrating each person's uniqueness and all you have to offer this world.
I offer integrated Christian counseling upon request, as I welcome all spiritual disciplines and honor the ability to choose your own faith journey. Together, we can explore how your beliefs support or hinder how you are showing up in life each and every day.
